My Honest Review of Japanese Terea Flavors in UAE (After 1+ Year of Using)

My Honest Review of Japanese Terea Flavors in UAE (After 1+ Year of Using)

I’ve been using Terea sticks with my IQOS for over a year now, and somewhere along the way I went from “casual user” to someone who genuinely has opinions about which Terea flavor is good, which one is overrated, and which one I keep coming back to at 2 AM. Since the Japanese Terea Flavors is honestly one of the best in terms of variety and flavor quality compared to other regional versions, I figured I’d put together an honest, no-fluff review of pretty much every Japanese Terea flavor I’ve tried here in the UAE.

A quick note before I get into it β€” Terea Japan sticks aren’t always easy to find consistently in the UAE, and prices jump around a lot depending on where you buy them. I’ve seen the same pack go for 190, 200, 210, and even 220 AED depending on the shop, the batch, and honestly sometimes just how busy the store is that week. Out of everywhere I’ve ordered from, Terea Dubai Shop has consistently had the best and most stable pricing, plus they actually stock the harder-to-find Japanese variants, which a lot of local shops don’t bother with. So if you’re tired of paying different prices every time you buy a pack, that’s worth checking out.

Now let’s get into the actual flavors.

Full Japanese Terea Flavor List

Terea Regular

This is the baseline, the one everyone tries first. Tobacco-forward, no menthol, no gimmicks. It’s smooth but honestly a bit boring after a while. Good for people coming from regular cigarettes who don’t want a big adjustment, but once your taste adapts, you’ll probably want to explore the other “regular” variants.

Terea Bold Regular
Stronger and heavier than the standard Regular. If you’re someone who used to smoke stronger cigarettes, this one feels closer to that. It has more of a “punch” without being harsh. This was one of my go-to picks during my first few months.

Terea Rich Regular
Despite the name, I didn’t find this drastically different from Bold, but it does have a slightly fuller, more rounded tobacco taste. Less sharp, more mellow. Good for evenings.

Terea Smooth Regular
This one lives up to its name. Very mild, very easy on the throat. If Regular feels too strong for you, Smooth is the softer alternative. Great for beginners or for days when you just want something light.

Terea Warm Regular
This is an interesting one β€” it has a slightly spicier, warmer tobacco profile compared to the others. Not for everyone, but if you like a bit of depth in your tobacco flavor, it’s worth trying at least once.

Terea Ruby Regular
This one has a slightly fruity undertone mixed with tobacco, but it’s subtle, not overpowering. If you want something a little different from straight tobacco but don’t want full menthol, Ruby Regular is a nice middle ground.

Terea Balanced Regular
As the name suggests, it sits right in the middle β€” not too strong, not too light, no strong added flavor. This became one of my “default” choices when I didn’t feel like experimenting.

Now onto the menthol lineup, which honestly is where Terea Japan really shines compared to other regions.

Terea Menthol
The classic. Clean, cold, refreshing. If you’re a menthol person, this is your starting point. Nothing fancy, just does its job really well.

Terea Black Menthol
Stronger tobacco base with a sharper menthol hit. This is one of the more intense options in the lineup. I usually go for this when I want something that really wakes me up.

Terea Mint
Lighter and “softer” than regular menthol, more of a cool, airy mint feel rather than an icy blast. Good for people who like menthol but find the stronger options too harsh.

Terea Bright Menthol
This one feels crisp and slightly sweeter than standard menthol. It’s become one of my personal favorites for daytime use β€” refreshing without being too intense.

Terea Fusion Menthol
A blend that mixes menthol with a slightly fruity/herbal note. It’s hard to describe exactly, but it’s different enough to be interesting without being weird. Worth trying if you’re bored of plain menthol.

Terea Purple Menthol
Sweet, slightly fruity menthol β€” almost has a berry-like undertone. This is one of the more “fun” flavors in the lineup and a good option if you want variety.

Terea Black Purple Menthol
Combines the intensity of Black with the sweetness of Purple. Strong tobacco hit at the start, sweet menthol finish. Honestly one of the more complex flavors I’ve tried β€” good if you like layered profiles.

Terea Black Tropical Menthol
Tropical fruit notes with a strong menthol-tobacco base. This one is pretty divisive β€” some people love the tropical twist, others find it too much. I personally enjoy it occasionally, but it’s not an everyday flavor for me.

Terea Black Ruby Menthol
Similar idea, but with a fruitier (ruby-style) finish instead of purple’s berry sweetness. Strong base, fruity-cool finish. I’d put this in the “advanced” category β€” not for first-timers.

Terea Tropical Menthol
A lighter version of the above, without the “Black” intensity. More balanced tropical-menthol combo. Easier to smoke regularly compared to the Black Tropical version.

Terea Black Yellow Menthol
Citrus-leaning menthol with a strong tobacco base. The citrus note is noticeable but doesn’t completely take over. Good if you like a bit of zing in your menthol.

Terea Yellow Menthol
The lighter sibling of Black Yellow β€” citrus-menthol without the heavy tobacco kick. Refreshing, especially in hot weather (which, let’s be honest, is most of the year here).

And finally, the one that stands out from the rest:

Terea Oasis Pearl
This one doesn’t really fit into the “regular” or “menthol” categories β€” it has its own unique, almost floral-fresh profile. It’s subtle and different from everything else on this list. I’d describe it as the “wildcard” flavor β€” some people are obsessed with it, others don’t get the appeal. Worth trying just to see where you land.

Final Thoughts

After more than a year of going through pretty much this entire lineup, my honest take is: if you’re new to Terea Japan, start with Regular or Smooth Regular to get a baseline, then branch into Bright Menthol or Purple Menthol if you like cooling flavors, and save the Black variants for when you want something stronger.

As for buying them in the UAE β€” prices really do vary a lot (I’ve personally seen 190 to 220 AED for the same pack depending on the store), so it’s worth comparing before you commit to a regular supplier. Terea Dubai Shop has been the most consistent option I’ve used both in terms of pricing and actually having the less common Japanese flavors in stock, which is honestly the bigger issue most of the time β€” finding the flavor you want, not just finding a cheap price.

If you’ve tried any of these and have a different take, I’d genuinely be curious to hear it β€” flavor preference is so personal with these things, and what works for me might not work for you at all.
